皆大欢喜

The covering glass of my painting broke
and it will never be repaired
a promise that will never be fulfilled
like all of them.

So I opened the paper bag today
shook the broken pieces out
carefully with a scissor
I cut the corners of the frame
took the painting out
cleared the glasses
put the painting back

I hang it on the wall
right across from my bed
so it is the first thing i see when i wake up
as if I am one of the audiences
watching a story unfolding
人生如戏，啼笑皆非

just without the glass -
it can break and it breaks.
and it is like what the title suggests:
皆大欢喜, as you like it.
