I've been listening to Japanese city pop recently. It is a glitteringly chill genre, full of city vibe created in 1970s. I discovered I don't like Mondays this Monday and had been listening to this song on repeat.
Yu's vocal is a contrast against his looks. The best part of this song is when he sings the word "fuck." He drops the note at the end and incorporates a coarse regret but also a let-go. It's not aggressive but sighful; it is a recogniticion of the danger of the thought of love.
City pop is on the revival. Image above is a NFT from the MidnightBreeze collection, #4833.
Poem:

Then the
uncomfortable shoes
impure faces
dropped pills
on the subway bench
5 stations to catch
the shuttle from 7
Fuck I’m in the middle
Then the
new york neon lights
drowning in the rain drops
on this winter night
rims overlapping
dissipating into none
Fuck I’m in the middle
And the
amateur priest
commands run, run
towards Jesus
a stream of people
walking on the opposite
Fuck I’m in the middle...
